This is an alternate drawing of the two-sail crabbing skiff built by Simmons at Cambridge in 1910. Howard Chapelle took off the lines in 1942 and published them as Figure 4 in Chesapeake Bay Crabbing Skiffs. This plan by Josef W. Liener provides some construction details and a table of offsets that are not found in the Chapelle plan.
I was surprised to find this plan by Liener in the archives of the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum (CBMM) just when I started lofting to build this same skiff for myself. I was lofting from the Chapelle plan that's available from the Smithsonian, and which was produced at 1:16 scale. I'm curious to see how my lofting and offsets compare to Liener's. (Other offsets for the Simmons 1910 two-sail crabbing skiff were produced by Kevin Brennan and Ed Thieler.)
A large format image of this J. W. Liener plan is here.
