Plans read "Gosnold's Shallop 1602 A reconstruction of the shallop carried in halves on Bartholomew Gosnold's bark Concord. Either half could be used separately, but once put together the connections were such that it was difficult if not impossible to separate the two sections. The shallop when assembled could hold at least 25 men but was too large to be carried on board the Concord. It was cut adrift when the bark returned to England in June 1602 after Gosnald's exploration of the Elizabeth Islands."
