The first photo below shows the pattern made of doors king (1/4″ luaun plywood) that is set in the space of the removed plank. Spacers made of wooden sticks are gluee to this patter baseline and adjusted to touch the upper and lower planks. This fefins the shape of the replacement plank.
Other photos show cypress planks to be used for the replacement.

Jim laid on varnish coats 5-8 to the spars.

Jenn and Bob worked on removing screws that held the washboards and the plank that we had removed.

We continued scraping and sanding the interior.

Willem scraped and sanded Cinnamon Girl then started undercoating. Tom varnished her spars and prepped the center board for (hopefully) epoxy undercoat.

Don removed the risers, thwarts, and sternsheets from Cinnamon Girl to make interior scraping and sanding easier, and for restoration or replacement of these components.

We moved Cinnamon Girl onto the SBS porch, out for the weather for our work of scraping, painting, and replacing some of the knees. Willem and Tom removed the centerboard.

Jenn and Don got to work with heat gun and scrapers to remove loose paint and rot from the interior of Cinnamon Girl.

Mike and Jenn sanded Cinnamon Girl’s spars while Tom cut and assembled parts for the new storage cabinet.
